Perfect Speed

0

In the book Jonathan Livingston Seagull, by Richard Bach, the concept of “perfect speed” is touched upon and elaborated in such a way that it serves to provide all of us a lamppost as we navigate life’s journey.”You will begin to touch heaven, Jonathan, in the moment that you touch perfect speed. And that isn’t flying a thousand miles an hour, or a million, or flying at the speed of light. Because any number is a limit, and perfection doesn’t have limits. Perfect speed, my son, is being there.” (Richard Bach)

Illustrated via the world of seagulls and their community, the allegory points towards the importance of self-mastery and the pursuit of perfection; threaded throughout the story is the importance of “practice”.  Flying faster and further; in and out of time itself- is achieved through constant, diligent practice.  The same holds true in everyday life, especially with regards to chi gung in general, and Chi Power in particular.

In the literary article, “My Brain on My Mind”, author Priscilla Long provides us with an educational, entertaining and enlightening look on the inner workings and overall machinations of the human brain and a glimpse into the “mind”.  http://www.theamericanscholar.org/my-brain-on-my-mind/#more-5963

“Failure to learn new things kills neurons… If you are not learning anything new, you are killing your neurons. To keep your neurons, learn something new every day.” (Priscilla Long)

Having spent the past ten years training under the guidance of Sifu Jones, I am now able to reflect upon and realize the full extent of training Chi Power practitioners undergo.  The methods within the SPC USA umbrella are deceptively simple and as such, challenging, requiring learning new skill sets through diligent practice.

The goal of attaining or perfecting extreme abilities is what attracted many of us to this forum.  For the uninitiated, concepts such as levitation or invisibility interchange between the impossible, magical, and/or unattainable.  I am reminded of a simple, but powerful truth Sifu Jones reminds me as I continue training under his guidance: these are all learned techniques.  Therein lays his quiet genius.

“According to Daniel J. Levitin in This Is Your Brain on Music, dozens of cognition studies have produced the same result: geniuses practice more. Neural pathways require repeated stimulation to attain a genius level of mastery.” (Priscilla Long)

Here in the Inner Circle and Closed Door systems, the quality of the practice is what differentiates the “okay” from the “pretty good” to the “amazing”.  Engaging the mind, and challenging the brain to create better and more efficient neural pathways is what gives the genius his/her edge.  The same holds true here within Chi Power.

In many of the Inner Circle seminars and Q&A sessions, Sifu Perhacs reminds us to put in the “flight time.”  When we learn new things, new concepts, and practice with a diligent and steadfast mind, we go beyond the status quo, and bridge the gap to genius ability and performance.

SPC USA products are designed to unlock the [entire] human potential of every individual.

As you move forward with you quest for understanding and control, I usher you forward with the warmest sentiments I can offer:

“May you attain perfect speed.”
